Gina, Lacey, Hannah and I headed out into the wild wilderness, also known as, Joseph, Oregon. We rented a beautiful new cabin at Wallowa Lake offered by Flying Arrow Resort. We had a great time visiting and hiking at the top of Mt. Howard at 8,200 ft level. Gina and Hannah went on an hour long horseback ride into the mountains near the lake. They saw waterfalls and beautiful views of the mountains and valley on their ride.
The water temperature of the lake was very cold for swimming but the girls all managed to get some exposure to it. We also went fishing one day. Hannah caught six trout with her magic fishing pole and glass bobber. She was just using worms and the trout loved it. A deer was gently nibbling at some tender shrubs on the side of the river bank as we were fishing. The girls also got to see a bald eagle on a walk down by the lake. Fun time!
